Cut out from WORLD

Sigh ... no doubt this company is good and my boss ... she is ok .. I guess... you can't really judge a person by weeks. At least for one thing she don't bother me very much and let me run things myself. I am pretty satisfied at that. This is actually what I am looking for in a job. However, this is real far. Go ask anyone out there.

My life here is cut out from the WORLD and that is real! No Yahoos, No MSN, No CHAT ROOMs... this is the technology my company have. Pretty amazed! They will even go to the extend to block chat boxes for BLOGs. So you think you smarty pants can find a work around. HA ... they thought of that too! Sigh .... nobody to talk to except the despatch auntie and the cleaner auntie are now my closest friends to.

Yesterday was like worst then HELL. I am in lots and lots of pain from SINUS... half of my face is like swollen and my left eyes can't really open and tear continues to drip. The whole head hurts so bad that I thought of BANG my head against the wall and DIE. It is that painful! Totally unbearable is what I can say. AMEN to that I manage to still tolerate until doctor call my number at the Raffles Medical Clinic (company doctor hope can claim). And I am on MC today. Yippy get to do my things I never get to and tomorrow is Friday.

Morning & Evening Traffic

You thought that the roads in Singapore is a killer but you haven't seen the worst yet. The worst traffic are the moring and evening hours of MRTs and the bus catching time. When everybody is trying to get onto the MRTs and/or bus to get to work. People will just squeeze their butts into their transport to work. Then there are also some just take their own sweet time to get out of the MRTs and when the MRT doors start to beep for closing, you have to rush in and needless to say if you care to watch for those who are in the way. Sorry... some people just have no consideration for others. I give way to you and end up not able to get onto the train. DUH ... not likely that I would do that!

Some people like to take their sweet time during this rush hour to walk to MRTs or catch a bus but MIND YOU some of us are trying to catch the MRTs in a rush to get to our company. That would be me! The morning and evening hours are the most annoying time when people just don't give way to you who is in a rush. HEY do you noticed that escalator indicates KEEP LEFT? Guess not some people still block the way. Then there are others who can't see other people like me rushing for bus? HELLO... wake up ... this is morning traffic... get out of the way if you are not in the rush. Try to KEEP LEFT if you want to take a slow walk to work and keep me off the loop!

Opening Ceremony

Today is my company opening ceremony. I stand for quite some time waiting for the important people to finish their speech. After which I rush for the toilet not caring what's going to happen back there at the event.

Sigh... sad to say that I am on 6 months contract here. Again, contract people don't have much previledge and not recognized. People hardly ever remember you in any way coz they know after 6 months you may no longer be here. That is what I hate most and yet I am still taking this job offer. I may be confused and desparate at that time.

I must tell myself to overcome this crab. Hack care if I am 6 months or not. Hack care if I even do so much for the company and not even recognized. I leave for home on time at the end of day knowing that I have not owe the company anything and at the end of the day I can say God I am a good girl.

Exhausted from Traveling

Thursday Today and I am already exhausted from the travelling and the running to catch the bus.

Work wise isn't much. My boss is real good at least for once I am reporting to an Caucasian lady. Everybody have been telling me this place is very relaxed nothing much to do but somehow I got second thoughts due to the distance. It is very far in of Jurong Island and the public bus SUCKS big time coz it doesn't really come on time and sometimes it drives slow. Just like today. An old man was driving the bus to Jurong East and was damn slow. How I know? There was a BIG gap between peak hours of traffic and not only that I can practically count the number of trees outside that he just pass by. I was like ARGH ! I am rushing to get home. Do you mind to SPEEEEED UP!

Mistake Mistake

M I S T A K E! Is what I want to say for today in my blog. I want to be on time to catch the private bus that goes to the Jurong Island and my husband was so kind to give me a lift to Choa Chu Kang. So I took the lift in hope that I will reach there early but end up having to chase the bus again.

Lucky was able to get onto the bus. Then approaching Jurong Island, you think the bus driver would take the flyover faster mah. However, he didn't and we all got stuck in the traffic at the circle.Ok one thing is lucky that today the bus never merge so go straight to company. But I still late by 5 mins. Sigh... that is P A T H E T I C!

Then end of day... the girl suppose to handover to me rush rush everything and ran off. How irresponsible of her. Haven't finish yet then just run off

What's worst is ... I thought I can hitch a ride from the company transport but end up coming hope later then expected. Why? First she have to drop an VIP off at IBP. Talking about IBP (Internation Business Park) traffic was hell there. Same thing again the traffic jam at the circle turn about. The driver seem to be lost ... can't blame her lah after all she so kind to drop me near my place as close as possible. Thank you lor. All in all today is a pathetic day filled with mistakes after mistake. Next time need to ask where you heading first....

It's not my fault as the bus I am taking always merge with other bus number and route takes a bit longer then expected. Also late in coming home. No Thanks to TNC bus who is never on time at the bus stop.

CASE

With reference to my last post about CASE (here to refer back), here is the updated version through their website. So they are not CLOSED they are moving. Haahhaa.. some how the message differs if you don't indicate it is a move instead of the word CLOSED.

It reads
===================
"Dear valued consumers,
We regret to inform you that our branch office at Lavender will be closed with effect from 15 July 2008.
We welcome you to walk into our main office at Ghim Moh should you require assistance."

A new Life @ Jurong Island

My life have started today @ Jurong Island. It is a 6 months contract thing. Don't ask me why and I would not like to go down the road. Things haven't been going on well this year. If things have been going on well, I would have received the news that we are all heading to somewhere. Don't understand why my life is always filled with so much obstacles. Haven't I quite done enough by sacrificing my childhood days and I have continue some more? GOD have mercy!

Lucky there was a bus ride today to Jurong Island. What's funny is that they all sound as if there are many ques at the pass office and I need to get onto the right que. DUH ... only two que and it is pretty obvious if I am not a visitor, I shouldn't be in the visitor que. Anyway, both que also DAMN long and slow. I got pissed off... can't the person who take photo see that she has miss my number. HELLLO you know your numbers or not !

Leave office early to catch the public bus to notice I see the wrong time. The time was meant for bus 715. Anyhow, what is done cannot be undone. Hope tomorrow will be better. Take this job one day at a time and pray that GOD will walk me through each day

Children Behaivor Chart

As children these days are not easy to make them into habit to behave properly, I have created a Behavior Chart that evaluate the behavior pattern of my child. As per recommended by Supper Nanny Jo Frost. I have used the happy face as an expression to how mommy feels. And when she collects all five happy faces in any one of the behavior pattern, she will get a reward. I be sure that I try to follow this up so that she doesn't slack in her behavior and forget what she is required to do in this house. Below is an example in which you can try out for yourself.

I have lately laminated the face expression to avoid them from deteriorating as it is printed from a deskjet and cut out from paper. This will allow it to be used for a long term or for another child of mine. In addition, I have also used magnets tape which is much better then having blue tag as it doesn't stick well and constantly drops.
Try making one yourself!

Twisting Balloon

Lately I found this site that teaches you how to twist balloon into fun things. I, for one is afraid of balloon bursting into my face and always find it hard to twist it correctly. However, this has made it look so easy. Eventually, I found that courage to do it. Wala! Look what I come out with?

IT's a S W O R D!

There goes the saying " You can do anything if you put your mind to it!" Thank GOD it didn't burst into my face! Hahhahha

Shop till I drop DAY!

Step out of the house today early at 9am and head on to hop on to the bus 963. Why you may ask? I just plan to take that ride up to Harbour Front to find out how long does the ride takes to reach there. So... the result, it takes 1 hour and 15 mins to be exact to reach there. That is not during peak hours ok!

Next, made a call to Spotlight before I move on to my next plan of the day. Call them up to find out was there an error in the advertisement before I actually drop by there. Spotlight made an error in announcing their BIG Sale. So I safe a trip. Head on to VIVO City to check out Giant... I like the Giant there coz it is HUGE, NOBODY, and got bench for you rest when you tired from shopping.

Went over to Harbour Front and saw IORA on sale. Ok shop shop and saw this jacket was nice... Ok put it on.... TEMPTED to buy liao... then I bought it lor seeing I have been waiting so long to find one good jacket that actually looks good on me. $49.00 still ok after all don't buy now have to wait century to get one coz I will never find one I like again.

Head down to Chinatown next. Go see the new building after renovation. Now on a hunt for good shoe. See see look look... head down also to People's Park Centre to check out the cloths section. The cloth I like cost $15.00 a yard. Didn't buy it so walk walk. Then head down to CK to checkout for cheap pants.

After that a bit tired. Hop onto 961 head back to Woodlands. Wanted to head home but still got time to drop by Popular and John Little to get some stuff. Head back home after that to enjoy my late lunch with a cup of coffee and a chocolate swiss roll and all in time to avoid that rain that may be coming in soon.

古灵精怪

I am currently watching this Hong Kong Drama. Pretty exciting show which is quite similar to the Forensic Heros . If you are one crazy fan who likes to watch crime watch and how they solve misteries, then this is the show for you.

In this drama, another one of my favorite Hong Kong actor - Roger Kwok 郭晋安, is a cast in this show. He is one of the policeman who has the 'special' powers. He was striked by lighting and from then was able to foresee the crime incident through his head which help him to solve many unsolved mistery case.

This is a 9 DVD disc drama series. Recommend highly to watch.

Counter Offers

Reading through this website this morning and thought I'd share this on the blog.

The below article is from Maxsphere Solutions
******************************
Handling Counter Offers

The golden rule of counter offers is that good employers will never offer them, and smart employees never accept them. There are many reasons for declining a counter:
You never want to advance your career through force. If you have to solicit an offer and threaten to quit each time you want to get better treatment from your company, you are probably better off going to an employer who appreciates their human capital and rewards them appropriately.
You are perceived as a security risk and disloyal to the company. After you have demonstrated yourself as disloyal by looking for opportunities outside the company, you will lose your status as a team player, and your motives will always be questioned.

Appointment for WISDOM

You must be thinking that, "What? Wisdom needs appointment meh?" Well, I meant going to visit the dentist to check out my wisdom tooth needs to be pulled. Guess there isn't the if not part it is just the matter of time. Ok stop here now. Later will have further updates after my dentist appointment.

After appointment, back home. The dentist shows me the last x-ray I did. The wisdom tooth is actually blocking but still today not really fully poped out yet like a pop corn. After talking to dentist, I sat on the chair and filled with fear and almost got heart attack. I clench my fist very tight as the dentist cut my gums to clear the way for my wisdom tooth to come out. He push and push I can feel the strength and pressure as he try to push the wisdom tooth out and my hands clench tighter and tighter. Thank you nurse who help me to feel at ease. Thank you dentist if gave me straight in the face that if I don't trust him don't pull speech. Thank you for making me feel that the pain if just for awhile. Finally, the tooth came out after some struggle.

Representing my very 1st WISDOM TOOTH out!

Noticed something red there? That is the gums still attached to the tooth.

BIG right? Never did I ever magine a wisdom tooth is that big and I can hardly see it in my mouth. Hopefully this will cure the consistent pain I have had for the past few months.

And that is not all. Noticed my finger holding that wisdom tooth of mine?

There is a hole which means it has decay. Wow, the dentist was also surprise when he pull the tooth out to notice the decay. Even though it hasn't fully popped out, it has decay inside.

Dad's 67th Birthday

Today is my Dad's 67th Birthday!

We all went to his house after lunch to fix up the Xbox my husband bought for him. He was very happy that his son-in-law bought it for him. However, what made him more happy was that he had the game Pac-Man which is his favorite of the most game. Haha....

Dinner we head down to Vienna. He like to eat the cray fish. However, didn't know he prefers the hot one instead of the cold type. No matter, he still enjoy the dinner very much. How I know, cause after dinner, he sat at the table with a droozy eyes meaning he is really full. Hhahhha.

My son finally after the dinner allow him to carry him.

Happy Birthday DAD!

Review on Hong Kong Drama 和味濃情

Here goes my review for the drama 和味濃情!

A funny show to catch for a laugh or two especially it is in Cantonese. Notice the difference in language of joke when speak in Canotonese and converted in Chinese. Starting of drama makes you irritable as to why in this world have such a stupid person who is so persistent in going after a dream that is not releastic. Sorry to those if I offended you but if you try and try after some time still unable to realize your dream may be it is just a sign that says it is not meant to be. So GIVE UP!

In this drama, this girl wanted so much to be a famous actress and she will go to the extend to betray her family to get to that stage. After betraying them instead of feeling remorse and change her way, all she could say is the word "Sorry" and the problem repeats itself over and over again. However, the ending was pretty nice. So it isn't all that of a bad movie.

No more CASE

For those who are not Singaporeans and following with my BLOG, CASE stands for Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE). They are a non-profit organization that helps the community to voice out issues and protect consumers.

Just this morning I was thinking about writing this organization on my blog, how good it is to have it around to help to protect consumers fight for their right. Sad to learn from their website that the organization will be closed. Not sure does that mean closed for good or there are other meanings to that. So I send a feedback to find out if it is true. If it is true then it would be of great loss as there would no longer be someone there to fight and protect consumers.

So watch out for my BLOG on what the status updates for CASE!

Please keep your music to youself!

With technology so advance these days, mobile phones are also installed with speakers which allow you to play your MP3 music without headphones. This is a cool feature to have when you are looking out for mobile phones. However, this has also become rather annoying when some people misuse this feature.

Early in the mornings, during bus rides and/or even MRT train rides, people like to turn their mobile onto speaker to play their MP3 musics. Even though mobile have speakers doesn't mean that it play good music out. This has caused more like a noise polution then an appreciation for music. Still, mornings are times for people to have peace and quiet and not your noisy music. So you know who you are and needless to put it into words. If you want to listen to music, put your HEADPHONES on and not you SPEAKER!

Hong Kong Drama

I am a fanatic when comes to Hong Kong Drama. With time on my hands right now, I went to borrow the TVB Drama shop to rent a serial. I always enjoy watching this particular actor as he is always very comical and natural in his acting.

Was surprise to go down to the shop to learn that they have change management. Was it that bad these days? No one rent drama shows anymore? The last time I heard from them was that they were doing delivery service to home and now everything has change. Rather messy the place. However, price seem to be fix or is it that also change? No matter, they have 50 cents discount for new shows if you return the following day. Of course not for the whole series lah! 50 cents apply for one disc you rent. Figure that is still acceptable but do not know how long this will last.

Currently, I am watching 法证先锋2 and also 和味濃情

法证先锋2 is good to watch as it talks about Forensic Science. How crimes happen and solved. So I particuarly like to watch category like this. Go rent yours and find out more about the show
