Sick and resting

Have been on MC for 2 days this week. This is my second day of MC. Have a really bad flu. No ordinary flu. This one the chill actually gets to the bone. It freezes up and aches all over. You feel like pulling the bone out from your body and put it at the fireplace and heat it up. No kidding! It feels just that terrible. The virus seems to get stronger each time I get sick and weaker to fight against it. No matter, yet I still manage to conquer it with plenty of rest, water and lots of lots of sleep. Going back to work tomorrow and hoping that my table have not been messy while I was away.

Pooooorr Mom

Calculating my record of expenses through my savings account book, noticed that I have been spending more then I should. Every month have no left overs
I am the Pooooorr Mom with no money. Where did all the money go? Does that mean earning more is not always a good thing? It just makes you a and indulge in buying and buying? Hmmm... must really give it some thought as to where I should spent my money on. Now I am the Pooorrrr Mom with no $$$ and a big hole in my pocket.

Great Weekend

This weekend was great.

I manage to bring my girl to the near by library as it school holiday has begin. So we picked up some books for her to read and that includes some mandarin books for her to buck up her mandarin during the school holidays.

As for another great weekend part, I manage to do the scrunchie. Very nice indeed isn't it? And it is easy to make too! Below is another one.

Try making this one too with some of the yarn to spare. Can let my girl use this.

Indiana Jones 4

Yesterday evening after work went to watch the movie Indiana Jones 4 with my x-colleague.

The show started off like in the 50s. Was a bit confuse there as we are already millennium aren't they going to show Indiana Jones at this time era? When Harrison Ford came out, boy the close up screen do really show how old he is. Poor Harrison Ford have to do so many dangerous stunts and you actually pity him as if he is panting to try to get this movie done.

Besides Harrison Ford, you'd remember the lady who used to flim with Harrison Ford in one of the Indiana Jones before. Can't recall which one it is. Boy, she is old and fat too. Guess this movie wants to introduce the next "Indiana Jones" image as Harrison Ford retires from his old age. Why I say that, not going to spoil it for you, go catch the movie yourself!

If you want to watch some action movie, you ought to catch this all time favorite. Overall this movie, I rate it

2nd Half of Leave

Today's leave isn't a fruitful one

Received this Spotlight leaflet through the mail today with the Sale and was so happy that I am just about to head down.

I drop by Lee Kong Chian Library again today to check out one book I left out the other time due to time constrain. Didn't exactly found anything interesting so I left the library. Head down to Spotlight and thought of the Sale... later found out from the staff there the sale starts tomorrow. So didn't quite get anything much since nothing cheap nothing nice anyway. Not even the cloth are attractive enough.

Next stop, went to Popular Bookstore to get some more assessment for my girl to practice this school holiday. Sorrie lor coz you make too many mistake so have to buck up during holidays to do better next time. Hey.. it is also not cheap to reward my girl hor. Drop by Metro to get something I wanted long long ago..Now on offer so better grab before really no more.

Then head to NTUC... wanted to buy something on my list of things to get for the house. DAMN... notice one thing don't have and have to go another supermarket to get. Ai yah.. put everything back and leave NTUC. Head to Shop and Save to catch all my stuff then realize, I forget to buy baby wet tissue at NTUC (cheap mah). Ai Yo! So leh chey to have to run up and down.

Ok I am exhausted... go home and eat instant noodle.. rest up for the next few hours and there goes my day

Meet the Parent Session

Schedule today is Meet the Parent Session. Was away from office to attend this important event. This is at least something. I sit and listen to hear what the form teacher's feedback. I was please to hear the faults and weakness of my girl from the teacher. The last time I went to my girl's Kindergarden, meet the parent session, I spent my time asking the teacher instead of getting any feedback from the teacher. From then onwards, I never wasted my time going. However, this was really different. I would definitely go and hear each session that comes again.

Schedule given to me was at 9:00am to meet in the Hall to meet the Form Teacher. I went there early say 8:00am I slowly walk to school. I thought of meeting the Chinese Teacher first coz that schedule was 8:30am. However, the Security told me to go to the Hall. Ok .. so I did. Waited and hoping the teacher would come early so I get rid of this thing to do from my list as I have a full day ahead, not wanting to waste my leave plans as usual. All the teacher from other class came early ... so I wonder.. please please.. can my girl's teacher arrive early... YES she did. Ok... went to see Chinese Teacher after that. Hmmmm... no label... how am I going to tell who is the Chinese Teacher? So I ask... lucky my girl always tell me her Chinese Teacher name... Ok .. found her... finish before 9:00am and went to go take breakfast and return home to plan the rest of my day.

Present Situation @ Work

Well, there are many reasons as to why I do not want to stay.

1. I am always make an I D I O T. Hey I not idiot hor! It is you who do not give the proper instructions

2. I am a XXXX in this company. However, sure don't look like one. I am always at M E R C Y of others. Is there even a thing call justice.

3. I hate doing follow ups of other people's work. Can you all please work as a team and update me without asking?

4. Communication, what happen to it? Everybody have a mouth but no one wants to even remember to say something.

5. Came here with great confidence and hoping to achieve something from this company but end up loosing something instead. What a JOKE!

6. Try to be positive but how can I if the rest of the team don't even feel good about how things are being run.

7. Boss can I don't make calls to people to ask $$$ of project? It sucks some of them not even available to ask. Can't we tell from what the description of project?

The Great Change in Orchard Road

Just that day I was on leave and went to Orchard Road to meet up a friend for breakfast. It sure have been a long time since I swing by Orchard Road. So much have changed. I almost got lost. Can you actually believe that? I am a Singaporean somemore. Hhahhahha to that!

Well the picture on the left actually links to the MRT. It sure didn't look like that before when the last time I was in Orchard Road - God knows when the last time I came by. It is COOL and pretty! Just like a disco place. Love the beautiful blue lights.

Walking the underpass came across so many of this kind of board. I find it rather interesting. Just gave those who pass by the underpass to spent some time giving their thoughts. Also a way to vent their anger without having to vendalize public property. Great Concept!

Survived a Day in Paradise

Just yesterday I was yet given another difficult task by my boss. It seems that each day passes down here the task gets more and more difficult to overcome. Call me pessimistic but I seem to running out of confidence and optimism.

So what's the difficult task? Trying to argue my way with a Tax Auditor. I definitely do not want to jeopardise my name with the Tax Auditor and be listed in the blacklist. Although I am being paid to do my job but this would be one I considered as "NO WAY"!

I have been really down and almost break down to cry in trying to solve this problem. I seem to be drawing "blanks...blanks ... blanks " on my head to resolve this. Some how .. light manage to break through and I manage to solve this problem. Thank you so much to the Tax Auditor for helping me explain to my boss. AMEN to THAT! Sorry that my boss come back with such strong and stern words. No matter, at least he did himself after I attempted to talk to the Tax Auditor through the phone and e-mail with not much help in trying to convince him that he needs to pay up.

Ok this have been resolve ... how many more will there be coming my way? I really don't know ! God save me from the Fires of H E L L!

Serangoon Garden North School

I used to attend this Primary School. This school no longer exist in the MOE list. You can never find this school image anywhere over the internet nor you will ever hear from it ever again.

Just that day I thought of going to the reference library to extract some information or rather some pictures of the school I remember by. Sad to say that they have nothing much out of it. Mostly microfiche or microflim. Can't even see them well without printing it out. Printing the 10% of the book is a total waste. Thus I only selected some relevant ones in which I really would like to remember by.

Picture of how Serangoon Garden North School used to be like

Serangoon Garden North School

Location 1 - That used to be a place where we would play one legged cathching or police catch
thief.

Location 2 - That used to be the place where the school staff would park their cars. I remember
telling stories to everybody at that location during an assembly. This I definitely
can't forget.

The School Crest is also something to remember by

Lee Kong Chian Library

Today went down to Lee Kong Chian Library for the very first time. I wanted to do some research of my own. A research that is my school year book. I was surprise to have find my primary and secondary year book material can be found in the reference library so I thought I drop by there to see if I could find a photo of myself.

Disappointed to say no! Why? It is in microflim. How to see my face? The only way is after you print it out and damn it isn't cheap hor to print onto paper. A3 size cost me $.90. Imagine that! However I did print the picture of teachers and the school picture in which some have. Spent 10 bucks on making photo copy. Almost ran real late for my appointment at the hospital. However, thank GOD for blessing me with a taxi. For a moment I thought I have to run to the MRT to catch the train.

Ok...the reference library, you really gotta to drop by to have a good look. Never been there before.. call me shua koo if you must which also mean mountain tortise but it is H U G E! Many different areas to look for material, I mean levels after levels of floor. Ok the place I am looking for the year book... is at 11th Floor.. so took the lift up. Then Security say your things can't bring in so left in the locker outside the library. Ok found my research material in microfiche and microflim... whatever you call it. BOY was there a lot of pressure in putting it in to the maching to view. Sorry I an idiot with manuals and close shave not spoiling their material. Thanks to the uncle sitting next to me, he show me how to put it in. The librarian show so fast I can't catch.
The photo copy uncle also was very helpful and kind of find me so weird for doing this research. He thought I was a teacher but I say no. I told him I was once a student there.

All in all I enjoy going to the reference library and think may hit there again when I do have the time of the day

On leave

Today took leave away from work to go for the annual regular check up after giving birth. In addition, nothing new that I have never said before. Leave are always a day for me to really make full use of it.

So here the checklist which I actually get to:

- Meet up with my x-colleague after left touch for four months

- Head down to bank to bank stuff (lucky not so crowded, one thing I like about weekdays doing banking) Almost trip when entering the door way to the bank. Good thin bank has two different ques (Personal & Corporate)

- Almost forgot to add to my list to get to is to drop by the favorite Japanese Bookstore in Ngee Ann City Takashimaya. Very close in not recalling this as to have to do. Was happy I remembered and I bought two magazine.

- Time slipping by me... running out of time gotta hit the Reference Library which is up in my list to check out some important year books in my list. Damn... didn't know the reference library was so damn big! B I G mistake didn't take the lift and didn't ask the receptionist which floor I should go. So I ended up taking the escalator 3 levels before I give up and took the lift instead

- more time slip by as I take time to look through the microfilm. Almost late for my appointment. Quickly finish up with the photo copy. Uncle please don't interrupt this uncle from photo copy for me. Then rush down to catch a cab. Hail and hail no taxi... wow everybody still take taxi leh.... perhaps its tourist who hogging taxis... and pray to GOD please send me a taxi and there came one. THANK YOU GOD! Late for 15 mins appointment

- After seeing the doctor, spent half an hour waiting for medication. Don't ask why!

- Hit Church to do some prayers and buy some things

- Last stop go buy stuff for girl

Things in which I didn't quite get to:

- Hit Spotlight to buy some craft stuff

- Run errands

- Buy the photo paper for company use

Jesus Love Me Lyrics

Lately I have been listening to Hyms. I especially love this song title "Jesus Love Me". It kinds of soothe me when I am down. I wanted to know the exact lyrics to this song and did a search over the internet and found this list of lyrics to be very interesting.

http://www.dltk-bible.com/jesus_loves_me.htm

I particularly like the followings:

  • (Thanks to Eric L. Zancanella 2001 for creating these verses and sharing them with us!)
Jesus hears the prayers I groan, Speaks for me at our God’s throne; His love helps me to comply, Yes, the Lord is my supply.
Yes, Jesus loves me!Yes, Jesus loves me!Yes, Jesus love me!The Bible tells me so.
  • (Thanks to the viewer who recently sent us this verse!)
I love Jesus, does He know?Have I ever told Him so?Jesus likes to hear me say,That I love Him every day!Yes, I love Jesus!Yes, I love Jesus!Yes, I love Jesus! In prayer I tell Him so.
  • Jesus loves me when I'm good. When I do the things I should. Jesus loves me when I'm bad, but it makes him oh so sad.Yes, Jesus loves me!Yes, Jesus loves me!Yes, Jesus loves me!The Bible tells me so.

Fourth Month into new J O B

Into my fourth month and counting the number of days in the new company. Seem fast seem slow.. not really sure how you should put it. Anyhow, I got my confirmation like I wanted and the increment I am happy with. However, still I seem to be missing something in this. What do I really mean? Missing the job satisfaction I am actually looking for.

What I don't really like about this current job. I spent most of my time picking up phones and relaying messages. Hate having to take messages and relaying them. Not a real challenge to me. Still, I have to write plenty of e-mails to customers also not really what I want in a job. You think this part will be a challenge. Yeah I thought so too! However, it is only that one sentence or two that says here goes the quote you need. Of course I didn't write that exactly ! Then again I make phone calls and many phone calls ... my day goes on like that making phone calls ... Then there is the annoying part about matching up invoice. NO it so not matching with the delivery orders is having to verify it. This is the annoying part in which I can't go on any further saying about it.

Well, I do admit that I am fussy and who isn't? If we are all not fussy, we will settle in whatever drops onto our lap wouldn't we? The real good part about this job that keeps me here is the $$$$

Lunch with Hubby

This is a good day to record this as my memory starts to fade.

Well, first time in history that I married to my husband for many years - try 10 years he call me out for lunch.

You have no idea that this meant a lot to me! Even though it was eating lunch at a coffee shop but it doesn't really matter with me. If you have read my blog, it doesn't really matter where you eat it is whom you eat with. Even if it means eating at the staircase of some unknown place.

Thank you hubby

Goodbye to my favorite Won-Ton Mee Stall

There goes my favorite Won-Ton Mee stall that taste so good especially the noodle. They just cook the noodle the way I like. Just like the way Hong Kong restaurants cook it. Their last day of business is 30 Apr 2008.
So where was this Won-Ton stall at? Next to my working place in an old coffee shop. My working place is at The Linear at Bukit Panjang. So sad... no more tasty won-ton coming from this stall.
The funny part is the lady boss told me to look out for their sign board. But just only notice after eating at their stall so long, where is the sign board? So how can I find them again? No one really knows as they have no plans to rent a place yet. They are taking a break.
A-DIEU my won-ton mee! Till I see you again some where in Singapore.
