The Great Change in Orchard Road

Just that day I was on leave and went to Orchard Road to meet up a friend for breakfast. It sure have been a long time since I swing by Orchard Road. So much have changed. I almost got lost. Can you actually believe that? I am a Singaporean somemore. Hhahhahha to that!

Well the picture on the left actually links to the MRT. It sure didn't look like that before when the last time I was in Orchard Road - God knows when the last time I came by. It is COOL and pretty! Just like a disco place. Love the beautiful blue lights.

Walking the underpass came across so many of this kind of board. I find it rather interesting. Just gave those who pass by the underpass to spent some time giving their thoughts. Also a way to vent their anger without having to vendalize public property. Great Concept!

Survived a Day in Paradise

Just yesterday I was yet given another difficult task by my boss. It seems that each day passes down here the task gets more and more difficult to overcome. Call me pessimistic but I seem to running out of confidence and optimism.

So what's the difficult task? Trying to argue my way with a Tax Auditor. I definitely do not want to jeopardise my name with the Tax Auditor and be listed in the blacklist. Although I am being paid to do my job but this would be one I considered as "NO WAY"!

I have been really down and almost break down to cry in trying to solve this problem. I seem to be drawing "blanks...blanks ... blanks " on my head to resolve this. Some how .. light manage to break through and I manage to solve this problem. Thank you so much to the Tax Auditor for helping me explain to my boss. AMEN to THAT! Sorry that my boss come back with such strong and stern words. No matter, at least he did himself after I attempted to talk to the Tax Auditor through the phone and e-mail with not much help in trying to convince him that he needs to pay up.

Ok this have been resolve ... how many more will there be coming my way? I really don't know ! God save me from the Fires of H E L L!

Serangoon Garden North School

I used to attend this Primary School. This school no longer exist in the MOE list. You can never find this school image anywhere over the internet nor you will ever hear from it ever again.

Just that day I thought of going to the reference library to extract some information or rather some pictures of the school I remember by. Sad to say that they have nothing much out of it. Mostly microfiche or microflim. Can't even see them well without printing it out. Printing the 10% of the book is a total waste. Thus I only selected some relevant ones in which I really would like to remember by.

Picture of how Serangoon Garden North School used to be like

Serangoon Garden North School

Location 1 - That used to be a place where we would play one legged cathching or police catch
thief.

Location 2 - That used to be the place where the school staff would park their cars. I remember
telling stories to everybody at that location during an assembly. This I definitely
can't forget.

The School Crest is also something to remember by

Lee Kong Chian Library

Today went down to Lee Kong Chian Library for the very first time. I wanted to do some research of my own. A research that is my school year book. I was surprise to have find my primary and secondary year book material can be found in the reference library so I thought I drop by there to see if I could find a photo of myself.

Disappointed to say no! Why? It is in microflim. How to see my face? The only way is after you print it out and damn it isn't cheap hor to print onto paper. A3 size cost me $.90. Imagine that! However I did print the picture of teachers and the school picture in which some have. Spent 10 bucks on making photo copy. Almost ran real late for my appointment at the hospital. However, thank GOD for blessing me with a taxi. For a moment I thought I have to run to the MRT to catch the train.

Ok...the reference library, you really gotta to drop by to have a good look. Never been there before.. call me shua koo if you must which also mean mountain tortise but it is H U G E! Many different areas to look for material, I mean levels after levels of floor. Ok the place I am looking for the year book... is at 11th Floor.. so took the lift up. Then Security say your things can't bring in so left in the locker outside the library. Ok found my research material in microfiche and microflim... whatever you call it. BOY was there a lot of pressure in putting it in to the maching to view. Sorry I an idiot with manuals and close shave not spoiling their material. Thanks to the uncle sitting next to me, he show me how to put it in. The librarian show so fast I can't catch.
The photo copy uncle also was very helpful and kind of find me so weird for doing this research. He thought I was a teacher but I say no. I told him I was once a student there.

All in all I enjoy going to the reference library and think may hit there again when I do have the time of the day
